Hot Stuff*******Mid Nineties Today

July 19, 2008

Today seems like a great day to sit by the pool and listen
to ABBA music. Has anyone seen the movie "Mamma Mia!" yet?
The critics love it and I know I will too. I'm such a sap
for that kind of stuff. Maybe it's because I'm part
Scandinavian and drive a Volvo and love Anders Zorn. Who
knows!!!

Some news about the Santa Fe, NM workshop.

The dates have been moved back since many people thought
the weather would be too cold in April for an outdoor
workshop. I agree. So the new dates are May 21 through May
31. A nice package is being put together that will result
in a great painting trip. Stay tuned for further
information.

I'm also announcing a two day painting workshop to take
place in Historic Marblehead, MA. on August Friday August
8th and Saturday August 9th, 2008 9:30 am to 4pm. Cost
will be $150.00

I'll be doing at least four demonstration paintings during
this workshop and will be giving two of these away free to
two lucky workshop participants. This will be done on a
lottery draw. These could be the best paintings I have ever
done!!!!

This workshop is only three weeks away so I'd like to get
people who are interested to email me at
sutsign@hotmail.com as soon as possible. I'll give you the
particulars at that time.

Right now I've decided to make this a once a week
newsletter. This will let me get news about classes,
workshops and other related artstuff to you without
becoming a bore.

Quote of the day:
From James McNeill Whistler(1834-1903)

"Nature contains the elements, in colour and form, of all
pictures, as the keyboard contains the notes of all music.
But the artist is born to pick, and choose, and group with
science, these elements, that result may be beautiful- as
the musician gathers his notes, and forms his cords, until
he brings forth from chaos glorious harmony."
